Agadir To Taroudant An Interesting Discovery Excursion

The trip starts from your hotel at  08:30/09:00 a.m. heading towards Taroudant an ancient city about 80 km southeast of Agadir; located in the valley of Souss, surrounded by the High and the Anti-Atlas Mountains, the town reflects an excellent impression of southern Morocco. The tawny color of its ramparts, the charm of its souks, and its ancient history make this little jewel a must-see site.

Upon arrival in town your visit will start with a tour of the ramparts (about 6 km long), then the visit to the Salam Palace (old Pasha Palace) transformed into a Riad-hotel, coffee or tea break at the gardens (optional), then continue the walk to the alleys of the Medina arriving at the Assarag Square, a meeting place for the peasants coming from the neighboring areas and the dwellers of the Medina.

Continue to the Berber village of Tiout, located about 20 km from Taroudant at the foot of the Anti-Atlas Mountains;  with a magnificent palm grove extending between several villages perched on top of the hills looking over a sublime landscape. The kasbah of Tiout offers a stunning panoramic view with a contrast of both green and barren land. The best way to visit the palm grove is by hiring a donkey, an effective way to enjoy the ride and also help the locals with the economy of their villages; walking the palm groove is optional and some visitors might find it more interesting. Lunch on-site and  Berber cuisine is on the menu with very refined, finger-licking delicious dishes.  The trip back to Agadir will be through a different route for a change of scenery.
