Schedule:
You will be picked up from your cruise ship at approximately 9:00 a.m. by an English-speaking driver/guide who will accompany you to discover the highlights of Agadir. The excursion typically begins with:
Marina:
- The recently built marina in front of Agadir Bay is one of Morocco's most significant tourist projects. Officially inaugurated in September 2007, it includes residences, hotels, nearly 130 shops, restaurants, cafes, and a marina for about 300 boats. The marina is an ideal place to relax during the day or evening.
Mosque Mohamed V:
- Located in the Talborjt district, this mosque is one of the largest in the city. It is named after the grandfather of the current King, Mohamed VI. The carved wooden doors, intricate mosaics, and majestic size make it one of the most beautiful mosques in the region. Please note that access is restricted to Muslims, as with other mosques in Morocco.
Médina Coco Polizzi:
- A few kilometers from the city center lies the Medina of Agadir, also known as Medina – Coco Polizzi. This spectacular place respects the ancestral architecture of Souss Massa and is a reconstruction of the old Medina of Agadir, which was unfortunately destroyed by the earthquake. It is a must-visit during your stay in Agadir.
Camel Riding (optional):
- Enjoy a 3/4 an hour camel ride through the desert landscape, offering a unique perspective of the region.
Souk Al Had (market place):
- Visit "Souk Al Had," the largest market in the city, which is a fascinating spot for all sorts of shopping.
Kasbah Agadir Oufella:
- Finally, head to the Kasbah known as "Agadir Oufella," built in the 16th century but damaged during the 1960's earthquake. Perched on a high hill top, this site offers a fabulous view of the city and its surroundings.
